Episode 14: Sunset Chorus of Ruby-throated Hummingbirds

 

Recorded on September 08, 2024, on the Moonpie Deck, this is the sound of a garden full of Ruby-throated hummingbirds during their feeding frenzy at sunset as they bulk up in preparation for fall migration. You'll hear the faint high whistle of the males in flight plus the high rattling t t t t of the swing dance call and the zeeek ididididid of the chase call as wind rattles the leaves of the post oak trees.
