Episode 58: Upland Chorus Frogs in the Vernal Pools

Recorded on February 15, 2025, in a flooded meadow overlooking Sardis Lower Lake, this is the sound of a late winter chorus of upland chorus frogs, awakened by recent rains. Steady south winds sweep across the lake, carrying the energy of an approaching storm front. Sounds Southern Extended listeners will also hear the call of a Bald Eagle and the occasional caw of American Crows riding the thermals. This recording is best experienced in a quiet setting.
