Episode 51: Snowstorm Cora at Heart Place

Recorded on January 10, 2025, at the Heart Place, this is the rare sound of snow in the hill country as Winter Storm Cora drops half a foot of snow in the pasture. You'll hear the sound of snow falling from the Way Out West Deck as winter birds including a large mixed flock of Common Grackles, Red-winged & Rusty Blackbirds move from the ground to the towering Blackjack oaks. Joining in on the chorus are the melodies of White-throated, Chipping & Song Sparrows along with Purple, House & Goldfinches, Dark-eyed Juncos and Blue Jays. This delicate recording is best appreciated in a quiet setting.
