Episode 37: The Woods At Quail Run Trail

Recorded on November 1, 2024, at Quail Run Trail on a ridge overlooking Enid Lake, this is the sound of a lively bird chorus on a warm fall afternoon. The mixed-woods forest resonates with the calls of Carolina Wrens, Red-headed, Red-bellied & Pileated Woodpeckers, Brown Creepers, Carolina Chickadees, American & Fish Crows, Blue Jays and White-breasted Nuthatches. Adding to the ambiance are the vocalizations of the Eastern Gray Squirrel, often called the "cat squirrel" for its distinctive, cat-like calls.
